We only offer one plan. The developer decided his time and effort was better spent converting ideas into code instead of trying to write code to track usage limits.

Just having one plan eliminates any decision fatigue on the part of the user. You only need to decide if this web app will help solve your problems more economically then any other solution. You don't have to decide how much you're going to use it, nor try to carefully stay within any limits.

You can cancel at any time. PPA is primarily written to help the developer be a better farmer. Covering costs is good. Making lots of money isn't a high priority. This means that if you're not happy with the app, just cancel. No dark patterns are going to be employed to try and get you to stay.

Free options

You really want something for free though? How is that going to pay the electric bill for the web server? Well, electric bill or not, there are two options available for you.

One of them is to just use the live demo. There are some example files and crops already entered in. You can change the prices, edit the data, look it over. You will not be able to save any data without signing up for an account. As soon as you refresh the page, all those accurate and correct prices and quantities you entered in are back to what they were when you started. If that's going to frustrate you, either sign up, or just quietly close the browser tab and continue on your way.

The other option is to sign up for the email newsletter. Peridically, one gets sent out with some example crops listed in it. This is pretty nice, because it will give you a breakeven price right to your inbox. That's about as effortless as it gets.
